Presence Without a Name

The series Presence Without a Name is the point of origin of my artistic practice — a body of paintings in which the themes that later moved into my work with handmade cast paper, corporeality, texture, and archaic signs first took shape. These works were created as an exploration of female presence through state, inner tension, and emotional atmosphere. The female image here is stripped of a specific name, biography, or detailed individuality. It exists as an inner phenomenon — silence, fatigue, tenderness, detachment, anticipation, radiance, or a hidden force that transforms the space around it even before it is consciously perceived. It is in this series that one of my key artistic principles first appears: the image emerges through the material. The face dissolves into layers of colour, the contour loses its stability, the body shifts into texture, and presence becomes stronger than form. This experience later became the foundation for my work with paper as an autonomous body of the artwork — porous, fragile, material, and a carrier of memory. Presence Without a Name holds the place of a starting point within my portfolio, from which my later artistic language has grown. These paintings already contain the questions I continue to explore today: how an inner state changes reality, how the hidden becomes visible through matter, how the female image shifts from portrait into sign, and how the personal moves into the archetypal.
